Choreographed by Mark Bruce to the music of the White Stripes, Green Apples is a commanding duet performed in the round.
Green Apples is also available as a workshop option for teenagers and adults.
Separated from the performers only by a rope, the audience is drawn into a visceral and immediate experience as the dancers circle themselves and each other in a space of physical intensity and magnetic energy.
Originally created for Darren Ellis and Pari Naderi, Green Apples was commissioned by the Summer Collection for ROH2 at the Clore Studio of the Royal Opera House in 2006.
Subsequent performances have included British Dance Edition 2008 in Liverpool, the Place's 2008 SpringLoaded season, 40 years of Phoenix Dance in 2022, Frome Festival and Glastonbury 2024. We have performed Green Apples in schools with an accompanying workshop option for teenagers.
