Jo Fong is a director, choreographer and performer working in dance, film, theatre and the visual arts.

Jo’s highly distinguished performance career has included working with companies such as Rosas (Belgium), Rambert Dance Company and DV8 Physical Theatre. In 2002, Jo was awarded Best Female Dancer by the Critic’s Dance Circle. She collaborated with Mark Bruce for over twenty years contributing to performances such as Lovesick, Dance Hall at Louse Point and Helen. Recent dance and theatre collaborations include Wendy Houstoun’s Stupid Women, Deborah Light’s HIDE, Quarantine’s Wallflower, as Movement Director for National Theatre Wales’ Mother Courage, with Skye Reynolds on her solo performance Pitch and with visual artists Richard Bowers and Heloise Godfrey-Talbot.

Since moving to Cardiff in 2006, Jo has been developing her own choreographic work. She created two productions for National Dance Company Wales and recently toured her work internationally and presenting at British Dance Edition and the British Council Edinburgh Showcase. Works include Witness - Portraits of Women Who Dance, Dialogue - A Double Act and An Invitation… which is set to tour the UK in 2016. Jo is a generous and experienced workshop leader, rehearsal director and teacher working with a range of abilities from professionals, students, young people to mature amateur performers. In 2016, she will be collaborating with Wales National Opera as Movement Director for their youth opera production Kommilitonen!
